Euro Profile cylinders or Euro cylinder is the cylinder (or 'barrel') found in most multipoint or mortice door locks; it goes through the door, from the outside to the inside and is operated by a key on the outside and by a key or a thumb turn from the inside. Euro cylinders come in many different sizes including equal and offset sizes for rebated doors, the advantage of the Euro cylinder driving the lock is that if keys are lost only the cylinder and not the whole lock need be changed.
Euro cylinders have 2 sides, the inside part and the outside part also known as the 'attack side'.
Euro Cylinders should conform to BS EN 1303: 2005 as a minimum.
We supply 2 versions of the Euro cylinders, 1 star (GZ) and 3 star 'high security' (KABA), below shows the comparison between the two different types, please be aware, most new builds require a minimum of 3 star security cylinders to be used (TS007), make sure you select the correct type to suit your requirements.

Important note: When fixing the cylinder into to the door through the 'Fixing Point' shown on the right hand picture, DO NOT over tighten this screw, do not tighten using an impact driver or an automatic screwdriver, this may cause the cylinder to bend and not function correctly, only tighten hand tight using a screwdriver.
Feedback from a Test House on the KABA pExtra Guard 3 Star Cylinder:
"Out of all the cylinders we have tested the KABA pExtra Guard is by far the most secure"

Below is the comparison chart outlining the differences between 1 Star and 3 Star Cylinders.
Note: 1 Star Cylinders (GZ) will require a 2 star Escutcheon or a 2 star Security Door Handle to meet Part Q!
