What is Duratique

In simple terms, Duratique is a collection of external door hardware, including handles and door furniture such as letter plate, ring door knocker and escutcheon. It’s made to look like heavy rustic black antique hardware you see on historic buildings.

What’s it made of?

Duratique is manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel. This stainless steel alloy is high in molybdenum, making it resistant to corrosion.

How do you make it look like antique hardware?

Our research and development team worked for two years to perfect a manufacturing process that delivered the right look and feel.

After many attempts, we finally found a way to cast stainless steel into the authentic shape of malleable iron.

Now we had the vintage shape, made from a material that could resist harsh environments.

Next was the finish.

Working with specialists in Birmingham we developed a high quality textured black coating that looks and feels fantastic.

Has it been tested?

• Salt spray tested: 1,000 hours
• Durability tested: 200,000 cycles

You don’t want call backs from dissatisfied customers and neither do we so we put our new range through its paces.

Duratique passed the industry standard Class 5 salt spray test of 480 hours with ease so we pushed it to 1,000 hours. The hardware came out looking like new.

We also tested our handles to 200,000 cycles. Even if someone used a Duratique handle 10 times a day, that’s over 50 years with the same quality action.
