Tired of iron-based black antique door handles letting you down? Why risk your reputation with exterior hardware that doesn't stand the test of time? DURATIQUE incorporates traditional design and modern performance to back up your door guarantee.

With Coastal Group's exclusive DURATIQUE range of door furniture, you can have the best of both worlds: high quality durability with timeless elegance and style.

ANTIQUE-STYLE DOOR HARDWARE'S POPULARITY

Heritage or antique style hardware has never been more popular with home owners, developers and designers.

However, whilst many of the antique door furniture options out in the market seek to capture this timeless elegance, they can not offer the exceptional robustness and reliability performance expected of modern hardware designs.

We've listened to the issues and frustrations that both door manufacturers and homeowners have raised with traditional antique hardware made from malleable iron. Using this feedback we've designed our DURATIQUE Suited Hardware Range as the solution to these issues.

Main issues that customers have highlighted with traditional black antique hardware are:

  1. Hardware rusting and failing on site
  2. Inconsistent finishes making it time consuming and awkward to fit.
  3. Handle droop and spindle rattle.

ISSUE 1:
Hardware rusting and failing on site.

No-one wants to see their stylish new front door ruined by rusting hardware.

Those brown streaks running down door panels are never a good look but rusting is a massive problem with antique hardware and one of the most common causes of site callbacks.

As well as the expense of fixing these issues, it's not great for any door manufacturer's or installer's reputation.

So here's how to fix rusting antique-style door handles and knockers…

SOLUTIONS:

Coastal Group has created an alternative that delivers the same aesthetic but none of the rust:

  • Firstly we've changed the base material to cast stainless steel, so even if the top coat is damaged the hardware won't rust.
  • Secondly we’ve applied an extremely durable electrostatic polymer top-coat in an antique finish.
  • Thirdly we’ve ensured all fixings and components are stainless steel, with their external face finished to match the hardware; no more nasty rust streaks ruining your door.
  • Handles have been successfully Salt Spray Tested to Class 5, so even in coastal environments they resist the elements and keep their stylish good looks for years

ISSUE 2:
Inconsistent finishes making it time consuming and awkward to fit, especially when CNC machining your doors.

You've manufactured your doors to the highest standards and are ready to add the finishing touches with high quality door hardware…. then you realise the handles, knockers and fixings are all slightly different sizes. Not ideal for speed and efficiency…

SOLUTIONS:

We've CNC machined the fixing locations on our antique-style DURATIQUE range. This enables you to batch produce your doors, saving you time and making it much quicker and easier to fit the door hardware.

ISSUE 3:
Handle droop and spindle rattle.

How many times have you seen loads of play in a black antique door handle? The handle droops, the spindle rattles and you have to move it a few degrees before it operates the lever?

SOLUTIONS:

200,000 uses? No problem.

The DURATIQUE door handle range is fitted with a high quality dual sprung mechanism. This mechanism, combined with a high quality spindle, ensures a nice positive action and returns the handle consistently to its original position, every time.

To help prove these DURATIQUE door handles are more than fit for purpose, we’ve had them independently tested for durability, testing them to BS EN 12217 and achieving 200,000 cycles.

For a consistent elegant feel across your doors and window, our range of high-quality antique door furniture can also be suited with the Duratique CO8477 Curly Tail Window Handle.

To ensure consistency of quality for the DURATIQUE Hardware Range, it’s designed and built by our trained operatives at our workshops here in the UK.

Feedback from customers is extremely positive:

"Awesome furniture. So solid and fabulously built.
Ideal for coastal locations and our customers love them."

Physically seeing and feeling the robust quality of our solid stainless steel DURATIQUE hardware makes the decision easy for homeowners. To ensure the ultimate look, feel and performance for their new door, customers love DURATIQUE.
