Jet Black Double Entrance Doors – A Modern Take on Tradition

This striking set of aluminium double doors by Fortis Aluminium creates a strong architectural entrance, combining bold, symmetrical panel design with slimline glazed side and top lights that maximise natural light.

Finished in a deep, contemporary jet black tone, the doors deliver a modern style while maintaining a sense of solidity and presence.

Complementing the door’s design, Coastal Group’s BLU polished stainless steel door furniture provides a subtle contrast, adding a premium visual accent while reinforcing long-term performance.

Two ring door knockers DKB200 and two centre door knobs KM388 add a touch of luxury while offering strong corrosion resistance, ideal for long-term durability in high- traffic areas.

The balanced proportions of the doors, glazing, and hardware demonstrate how modern aluminium systems can work together to achieve a clean, timeless entrance solution.

Designer Feedback

Lynds from Merchant No.1 commented:

“As the house is right on the seafront, we’ve seen other hardware struggle to last even a few months. The stainless-steel finish from Coastal Group’s BLU range was the perfect choice - it ties in beautifully with the window hardware and looks amazing against the black front door. We wanted something that wouldn’t peel or fail over time, and this finish absolutely delivers.”

The result is a stunning entrance that not only performs exceptionally well but also ties together the home’s design perfectly - proving that the right hardware can make all the difference in a coastal setting.

Project Esther – A Coastal Collaboration

The homeowners of this dated bungalow in Devon wanted a functional family home that felt light and reflected its coastal surroundings.

Michelle Lyons Interiors rose to the challenge and Project Esther was born; a full rebuild with a focus on timeless design and practicality for family life.

Coastal’s Opera Range was the perfect choice to achieve this balance.

At the front of the property, the family wanted a statement piece. Southfield Windows designed a striking front door in matt black, featuring Coastal Group’s Classic Opera Lever Handle (TBH095) in satin brass finish, paired with a matching sleeved letter plate (LP400).

The combination creates a beautiful welcome, with the warm brass colours of the hardware contrasting against the stark black of the door.

The design concept was carried throughout the property, with Opera espagnolette window handles (TBH020) fitted in the bathroom for continuity of style and real attention to detail.

Designer Feedback

Constance of Michelle Lyons Interior said

"As a company, we focus on timeless and classic design. We find the finishing touches are what make or break the final reveal of a project, and this is where Coastal products really took their place.

The Opera Range has been a staple in completing this Project Esther to the high standard we expect. True British craftsmanship at its finest, the Opera Range added elevated elegance and care to our work. Our clients wanted the highest quality finish, and they found that through these products.

Not only beautiful to look at but fit for purpose with a young family running around and able to withstand the elements of being close to the sea. This was our first interaction with Coastal and their products, and it was wonderful from start to end.

From the products themselves to customer service and aftercare, they have been a fantastic company to work with, and we are already extending our collaborative relationship into the next project."

Project Esther is now a sophisticated, functional family home with stunning interior and show-stopping front entrance. The Opera range added the finishing tough throughout the property, contributing to a home that is both beautiful and practical.

Halwyn Crantock Golf Course

Coastal Group worked with Bercot Kitchens to supply hardware for the new Halwyn venue in Crantock, Cornwall. Located on a family-run farm, the site includes a 15-bay driving range, a 12-hole landscaped mini golf course, and a feasting barn restaurant.

With its coastal location and high visitor numbers, the main priority was to specify hardware that could withstand the harsh salty sea air while looking good for years to come.

The vision for the project was nature-inspired, making the most of the beautiful valley views across Crantock. The designer also carefully considered the proximity to the sea and the selection of hardware needed to withstand the coastal environment.

With an open-plan living design at the heart of the restaurant, the goal was to connect indoors and outdoors, creating a bright, welcoming space for visitors.

Inside, the restaurant was designed with a classic style, making the Regent Lever Handle in satin brass the perfect choice. Its delicate finish added warmth throughout the rustic country style restaurant.

To maintain flow between the restaurant and the outside landscape, open plan lift and slide doors were specified as a central design feature.

The HS Portal Comfort Unit Lift & Slide – Scheme L offered a practical solution, providing large-format openings that open to decking and outdoor seating. The design and products frame the stunning views while standing up to the harsh sea air.

Due to the size and weight of the doors, the KM7 Lift & Slide Handlewas specified for its strength and ease of operation on large panel doors. The door also features a flush pull handle with a radiused end, providing easy operation, ideal for the exterior side of the doors.

Following through to the driving range, heavy barn doors required robust hinges. Coastal’s Group’s 316 marine grade stainless steel projection hinges were selected to allow full operation for visitors, while being exposed to salty sea air.

As part of the design concept, Opera lever handles on round rose were added to the doors leading out to the driving range, creating a consistent design across the venue. The Halwyn venue balances style and functionality, with carefully selected hardware that withstands the harsh conditions while complementing the nature-inspired, open-plan design. The result is a welcoming venue that connects the beautiful valley and coastal views with practical, long-lasting hardware solutions.
