Marvellous Materials and Finishes Show for Coastal

Marvellous Materials and Finishes Show for Coastal

Coastal Group has returned from what has been one of their best exhibitions ever with enquiries, interest and leads from across the UK.

Alongside 160 exhibitors and 8,000 trade visitors, Coastal attended the four-day Materials and Finishes Show at the NEC in Birmingham from 19 – 22 May.

“The Show was over six months in the planning for the Coastal team, but Materials and Finishes didn’t disappoint,” said Managing Director, Loren Jenner. “It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with customers face-to-face, network with the trade and discover the latest innovations in joinery. It was also a chance to launch some of the new technologies we’ve been developing in recent months.”

Coastal Group, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of external door and window hardware, unveiled a range of new products and services at the Show. “The Edwin range of solid brass hardware has been developed in response to market demand,” continued Loren Jenner. “Celebrating our artisan roots, Edwin channels traditional Victorian styling with a modern twist and a focus on sustainability.”

The Show was also the ideal setting to introduce the stunning Inowa sliding door and Centor bifold door systems. “We work closely with some of the world’s best hardware manufacturers, and suppliers” explained Head of Marketing & Sales at Coastal Group, Adrian Welch.

“We were pleased to reveal our latest partnerships, which combine stunning products with unrivalled technical know-how and support. The feedback from delegates was excellent and we’re looking forward to supporting them in serving their customers as products are rolled out.“

Coastal Group is the UK’s largest supplier of Winkhaus locks, which were on display at the Show in a range of sizes and styles.

Trade customers were interested to learn more about the specialist locks used on stable doors and double doors as well as the innovative new AV4 auto lock from Winkhaus, which boasts increased operational tolerances and reduced operational force.

“Winkhaus has been the market leader for decades,” continued Adrian Welch. “Our staff undergo extensive training in locks so they can support customers with their projects. It was inspiring to hear the energy and enthusiasm from the Coastal team as they chatted with joiners, sharing their passion and passing on their knowledge.”

The Materials and Finishes Show is the primary trade show for joiners to see running woodwork machinery, the latest materials, components, software and tools for the woodworking sector.

The event is held every two years, with the next show planned for 2026.

“We’re already looking forward to the next trade show,” concluded Loren, “with plenty of ideas that will make an impact and deliver value to our customers and others in the industry.”
