The brief came from Green Retreats: hold a patio door securely open during fitting, without marking the decking or spoiling the finished look.
Cabin hooks did the job, but only for a while but looked dated, wore out fast, and weren't designed with appearance in mind.
The Engineering Challenge
The requirements were specific: a free-standing support strong enough to hold a door securely, light enough to handle easily, and simple enough to position quickly and consistently on any site.
Our R&D team worked through multiple prototypes, testing stability, weight distribution, and ease of positioning on real decking. That process led to two bespoke foot designs, engineered for different fixing needs.
Two Fixing Methods, One Engineering Standard
Option A – Fixed Foot Screw-fixed directly into the decking. Maximum stability, permanent hold.
Option B – Freestanding Foot No fixings. Sits on the decking surface, repositionable, and leaves no mark.
Both share the same build quality and design logic - just engineered for different jobs.
Material: Solid Stainless Steel
The DLH610 is manufactured entirely in stainless steel - resistant to corrosion, weathering, and wear, even in exposed coastal environments.
As far as we know, no other stainless steel patio door stay like it exists on the market. It's engineered to last the lifetime of the installation, not one season.
Innovation Tested
The DLH610 has been proven on live installations: holding doors securely, reducing movement, and protecting decking throughout fitting.
