Does the lock impact my home insurance?
The EAV4+ from Winkhaus is compliant with PAS24 and Secured By Design so should not affect home insurance. Home owners are advised to check with their insurance company to confirm.
Can I still use keys if I want to?
Yes - the lock works with a standard mechanical key too.
How do I control the lock?
Through the Winkhuas doorControl app on your phone – via Bluetooth or wifi, when wifi has been initialised.
Is the EAV4+ secure?
Yes – the EAV4+ locks automatically, supports encrypted access, and lets you track all activity.
Can I give access to others?
Yes – you can give access to up to 100 users and can control access for each one individually.
How do I manage user access?
The doorControl app allows you to manage user access, assign time-based access and log locking events.
Is it hard to install?
No - the EAV4+ is retrofit ready. No major joinery or rewiring. Just connect, configure and go.
Can I integrate the EAV4 with my existing smart home system?
Yes, the EAV4 supports connection to common smart home and access control platforms to integrate seamlessly with your smart home.
What happens in a power cut?
The lock can still be opened with the key until power is restored. If the wifi goes down, the system can be switched to Bluetooth, until wifi is restored.
Can the lock be fitted to any door?
The EAV4+ is suitable for a variety of door types, including composite, timber, aluminium and uPVC doors.
